Our respect for makers

In plain words Films and music are the fruit of the work of people, and we take that seriously.

Behind every film and every song are people who gave it their time and money. We want SyncShow to be a place where that work is not abused.

We want the way to tell us to be simple. This page shows that way.

What SyncShow is and is not

In plain words We are a tool for watching together; we do not put films up, buy them or sell them.

SyncShow is a software tool for watching films and videos and listening to music together. The films, series or songs are brought by the members of the room.

We do not buy or sell films, and we do not pick anything for anyone.

We do not see every link and file before it plays, but when we learn of it, we act under the law.

SyncShow does not host films or music and, as far as the law allows, is not responsible for the content of users; but when it learns of something, it acts as the law says.

How a film gets into a room

In plain words There are two ways, and in neither of them do we keep or host the film.

Each person decides where the film comes from. We know these two ways.

In both ways the film and the music do not pass through our server, and you are responsible for what you put. The server only checks the address, for safety.

  • A linkThe film is hosted somewhere else and plays from there.
  • Your own fileEach member plays their own file on their own device and nothing is uploaded.

Other things people share in a room

In plain words Besides the film, the pictures in chat, subtitles, the profile picture and the name of the room must also be yours or allowed.

In a room you can send a voice message or a small picture, add a subtitle, change the profile picture and give the room a name.

All of these touch copyright too, for example a subtitle that somebody made or a picture that somebody took.

If you worry about any of these, tell us this way.

Your part

In plain words Share only what is yours or what you have leave to share.

Whatever you share or play in SyncShow is your responsibility.

If you are not sure you have leave, do not share it.

Please do not

  • Do not share films or music without leave.
  • Do not sell tickets or entry to a room with the work of others.
  • Do not spread links you have no leave for.
  • Do not put the work of others under your name.

Please do

  • Share your own things.
  • Ask leave for the work of others.
  • If somebody gave you a work, make sure they had leave to give it.

What is usually allowed

In plain words Watching for yourself without making money, and short quotes for review or teaching with credit, are usually fine.

In general, watching a work for yourself without a business aim, or quoting a short part of it for review or teaching, with credit and within reason, can be allowed.

This is only a general note. Whether a case is allowed depends on the case, and we promise no result.

This page is a guide, not legal advice. If you are not sure, ask a lawyer.

Who can tell us

In plain words The owner of the work, or somebody who writes for them.

The owner of the right sends the request, or someone with permission to act for them. In the form you say which you are and write the owner's name.

For the behaviour of people, use the report inside the room or the contact page.

If the request comes from a court or a legal authority, see the part "Orders of authorities".

What a request needs

In plain words Enough information for us to find the work and its place and to be sure the request is true.

The more complete you write it, the faster we can find it.

The form is under this table. What you write stays in this tab only until you send it.

If a request is incomplete, it may be closed without being looked at. Please write requests in Persian.

What the form asks
What we askWhy
Your name and a way to reach youSo we can send the receipt and the result. The way must be an email address or an Iranian mobile number.
Whether you own the work or write for the ownerSo we know who holds the right.
The name, kind and year of the workSo we know the work well.
Where it is shown and, if you have it, when you saw itSo we can find it.
A link to proof (optional)So it is clear the work is yours.
Two confirmationsThat you believe in good faith this use is not allowed and that what you wrote is true.
Your full nameIn place of a signature; typing your name is enough.

How we deal with it

In plain words We give a receipt, someone looks, we do what is needed and tell you the result.

After you send it you get a tracking number and a receipt with the same number goes to you.

Someone on the team reads the request, looks at the place you wrote and decides. Nothing is removed automatically.

At the end, we tell you the result the way you wrote. If the message did not arrive, we will try to send it again.

SyncShow is not the judge of who owns a work. If two sides disagree, the decision is for the judicial authority and we act on it.

Timing

In plain words A receipt comes. For action we try to be as soon as we can, but we do not give an exact time.

A receipt with a tracking code is sent.

We try to act as soon as we can; since each case differs, we do not give an exact time.

We carry out the order of a court or legal authority as soon as we can.

What we may do

In plain words Depending on the case, we take something down or limit a room or an account.

We may delete a message or a file, close a room so the film stops, or take away some abilities from a person.

We may limit or close an account, especially if it happens again.

If a request has no ground, we do nothing and say why.

Telling the owner of the content, and objections

In plain words If something of yours is taken down you learn why, and you can object.

If content of yours is removed, you get a notice saying what was removed. To the owner of the content we say only which work was removed, and we do not give the sender's contact.

If you think a mistake was made, write your reason within the time shown in the app. It reaches the team and you read the answer in the support part.

If the objection is fair, we take the warning back, the request is looked at again and we tell the sender. As far as possible and lawful, the content comes back.

You can object only once for each case.

Repeated breaches

In plain words If it happens again, we become stricter.

We count repeats. When the count goes over a limit, the account is marked for a look and its owner gets a warning.

If needed, the account may be closed.

A wrong or ill-meant request

In plain words A request must be true and sent in good faith.

All of us can make mistakes and that is fine. If a request was wrong, tell us and we will put it right.

But a request that is wrong on purpose, makes trouble for someone, or is sent to shut down the work of others is not accepted.

Writing wrongly what you confirmed may have a result under the law. We only remind you of this.

Orders of authorities

In plain words We work with courts and official authorities.

If a court or legal authority asks that something be removed, we do it as soon as we can.

When a judicial authority or the committee on criminal content asks, we close access to criminal content and, if the law requires, tell the authority concerned (article 751 of the Islamic Penal Code).

These orders are recorded separately and with priority.

Request details, contact and date

In plain words We keep the request details only to look into this request.

Your name, contact and writing are used only to look into and answer this request, not for advertising. Read more on the privacy page.

After the time it is needed, this information is erased. You can also ask us about your own information.

For any question, write from the contact page. The day this page last changed is at the top of the page.

How do I tell you my work is shown without permission?

Fill in the form on this page: the work, where it is shown, two confirmations and your full name in place of a signature. After you send it you get a tracking number.

When is my request looked at?

The receipt comes with a tracking code. We look at it as soon as we can; since each case differs, we do not give an exact time.

My content was taken down. What do I do?

You get a notice that says what was taken down. Within the time to object you can write your reason and the team looks again.

What if a request is wrong?

We look at requests with care. If it turns out to be wrong, we do nothing.

Any questions?

If a part was not clear, or your request fits none of these, write to us and we will help.
